Flu vaccination

Flu Season is upon us.  Influenza (‘flu’) is a contagious disease that spreads around every year, normally between October and May.  Flu can affect anyone, can strike quite quickly and can be quite serious.  Every year worldwide thousands of people die from flu.  Some people are more prone to severe infection – elderly, pregnant women, very young, those with problems with their immune system and those with lung conditions such as asthma or other forms of lung disease.

Flu Vaccine has been shown to be the most effective method of preventing serious illness from flu.  Effectiveness of the vaccine varies from year to year depending on the viruses causing flu that year.

It has been shown to be very safe, with very few severe reactions occuring. Safety and reactions are monitored.

At Grafton Medical we are available to administer it on a daily basis.  If you have any concerns/queries about it we are available to answer questions also.
