Planning a pregnancy?

If you are planning on having a baby, there are many ways you can prepare your body
to help ensure a healthy pregnancy. Folic acid is recommended for all women of
childbearing age to ensure healthy neurodevelopment of the foetus. If there is a family
history of spina bifida, you may require a higher dose of folic acid until at least 12
weeks of pregnancy. If you are a smoker or take regular medications and are planning
a pregnancy, it is a good idea to discuss this with your doctor before becoming
pregnant
