Time for your flu vaccine!

Now is the time for people to in the ‘at risk’ groups to think about the annual flu
vaccine 2015-2016 at Grafton Medical Practice.


The same people who benefit from flu also benefit from Pneumococcal vaccine.
Unlike flu this vaccine is usually only given once. We can give this at the same time.


The vaccines are given by our practice nurses who have set up special clinic for this.
The cost is very competitive at €20.00, and it is of course free if you have a medical
card. Please ring. (01) 6712122 to make an appointment.

Not sure if you’re at risk – here’s our handy guide: 

At risk groups

  • People aged 65 and over.
  • Those with a long term medical condition such as diabetes heart or lung disease.
  • Healthcare workers.
  • Residents of nursing homes and other long-stay institution.
  • Carers.
  • People whose immune system is impaired due to disease or treatment.
  • People with regular close contact with poultry, water fowl or pigs.
  • People with a body mass index (BMI) over 40.
  • Pregnant women who do not have long term medical conditions.
    Can be given at any stage of pregnancy.


Not in the at risk groups


If you are not in one of the at risk groups but would like to guard against flu this winter
we charge €25 for vaccination shots.
